Terms & Conditions

Plain-language terms for using this website and for working with SEO-Malta. Where a signed proposal or contract says something different, that document takes priority.

Last updated: 29 October 2026

1. Who We Are and What These Terms Cover

These terms apply to the use of seo-malta.com and to services provided by SEO-Malta (C. Badde), 50 Triq il-Marfa, Bay Blue 2, MLH 9065, Mellieħa, Malta, VAT MT24104415 (“we”, “us”). Our services are offered to businesses and professionals. Specific deliverables, fees and timelines are set out in the individual proposal, statement of work or contract agreed with each client (the “Agreement”). If the Agreement conflicts with these terms, the Agreement prevails.

2. Using This Website

  • The content on this website is general information about SEO and online marketing. It is not advice for your specific situation, and you act on it at your own risk.
  • Our free tools provide automated estimates and are offered “as is”, without any guarantee of accuracy or availability.
  • You may not use the website in a way that harms it or its users, including attempting unauthorised access, overloading it or scraping it systematically.
  • Our content is protected by copyright; see our Copyright Notice.

3. Our Services

We provide SEO, GEO, web development, online marketing and related consulting services as described in the Agreement. We carry out our work with professional skill and care, using methods that comply with Google Search Essentials and other search engines’ published guidelines. We do not use practices that search engines classify as spam.

4. No Guarantee of Rankings

Search engines decide rankings using their own algorithms, which we do not control and which change regularly. We therefore cannot guarantee specific rankings, traffic or revenue, and nobody honestly can. We commit to the work, the methods and the reporting described in the Agreement. Read more on our page about guaranteed SEO.

5. Your Responsibilities

  • Provide timely access to your website, analytics and other accounts we need, and the information and approvals required for the work.
  • Make sure that material you give us (text, images, logos, data) does not infringe third-party rights.
  • Review content before publication where your industry is regulated – for example gaming, financial services or health – and confirm it meets the rules that apply to you. Regulatory compliance of your marketing remains your responsibility.
  • Keep backups of your website. Before we make technical changes, we recommend, and where possible make, a backup.

6. Fees and Payment

Fees are as stated in the Agreement and are exclusive of VAT unless stated otherwise. Unless agreed differently, invoices are payable within 14 days. Third-party costs, such as software licences, advertising budgets or paid tools, are charged separately or paid directly by you. If invoices remain unpaid after a reminder, we may pause work until payment is received. Our general pricing approach is explained on our SEO pricing page.

7. Term and Termination

We do not use lock-in contracts. Unless the Agreement states otherwise, ongoing services run month to month and either party may end them with 30 days’ written notice. Work completed up to the end of the notice period is payable. Either party may terminate immediately if the other seriously breaches the Agreement and does not remedy the breach within 14 days of being asked to.

8. Intellectual Property

Once paid in full, you own the deliverables created specifically for you, such as content, reports and website code written for your project. We keep ownership of our pre-existing know-how, templates, tools and methods, and grant you a licence to use them as part of the deliverables. We may mention you as a client and describe the work in general terms unless you ask us not to.

9. Confidentiality and Data Protection

Both parties keep the other’s confidential information confidential and use it only for the Agreement. Where we process personal data on your behalf, we do so under a data processing agreement in line with Article 28 GDPR. How we handle data on this website is described in our Privacy Policy.

10. Liability

We are liable without limitation for damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence, and for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Otherwise, our total liability under an Agreement is limited to the fees paid by you for the services in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost profits or lost data, or for changes made by search engines, platforms or third parties outside our control. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Maltese law.

11. General

  • These terms and every Agreement are governed by the laws of Malta. The courts of Malta have exclusive jurisdiction.
  • If any provision is found invalid, the remaining provisions stay in effect.
  • We may update these terms. The version published on the date an Agreement is signed applies to that Agreement unless both parties agree otherwise.
